Post-doctoral Research Associate on new bio-materials for lighting systems

IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in 2007 by Madrid’s regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. IMDEA Materials seeks a full-time post-doc with a priority to candidates with large experience in protein engineering and photophysical characterization of fluorescent proteins in different media. We are looking for an individual with initiative and motivation to further develop her/his career in a new and dynamic research group. The research activities will be focused on determining denaturation mechanism under irradiation and temperature stress scenarios as well as the preparation/analysis of lighting devices.


Candidates should hold a PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related disciplines. Experience in protein engineering, protein spectroscopy, and lighting will be positively judged.

Excellent academic records and a strong commitment to develop an academic career in an international and multidisciplinary environment are expected.

Fluent oral and written English is required as this is the official language of the group. No knowledge of Spanish is totally fine (free lessons provided).
