IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in 2007 by Madrid’s regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. IMDEA-Materials seeks a LABORATORY TECHNICIAN to assist the laboratories of sample preparation and processing of metals and to provide support to the Novel Alloy Design, Processing and Development. The main tasks to be carried out are the following:

  • Fabrication and characterization of metal powder for 3D printing of metals
  • Characterization and testing of 3D printed pieces
  • Maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Ordering supplies
  • Assistance to users
  • Safety
  • Waste management


Professional degree related to materials and processes (FP Química Industrial, others).

A good level of English is mandatory.

Candidates must be registered in the National Youth Guarantee System (Sistema Nacional de Garantía Juvenil)


A full-time two-year contract will be offerred.

The contract will be co-financed (91.89%) by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Youth Employment Operational Program and the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) through the Grants for hiring research assistants and laboratory technicians of the Community of Madrid.
