DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Materials Institute is looking for a Research Assistant that will be part of electrochemistry research group at IMDEA-Materials Institute. 


Overall goal of this project is the performance enhancement of current-generation rechargeable Li-S batteries and their commercialization. Research activities will be focused on the development of novel electrochemistry, electrode materials and electrolyte compositions for rechargeable  Li-S batteries. Future work will also involve the extensive surface chemical/ interfacial investigations of Li-S battery systems using several electrochemical, spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should hold a degree in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic/ Physical Chemistry, Nanotechnology (or related discipline) with excellent academic credentials and a strong commitment to develop an academic career in an international and multidisciplinary environment.


Fluent English (oral and written) is required.


Previous experience in nanomaterials synthesis, electrochemical energy storage systems, spectroscopy (Raman, FT-IR, XPS etc.) and microscopy (SEM, TEM etc.) are advantageous.

CONDITIONS

Starting date: Available immediately; open until filled.

Full time contract including social security coverage.
