The PhD candidate will work in a project related with smart manufacturing of composite materials by injection/infusion techniques. The project will be directly funded by IMDEA Materials Institute being the research activities focussed on the application of simulation techniques (computational fluid mechanics and machine learning) to the optimization of manufacturing process of composite materials by liquid moulding, including the creation of a physical demonstrator.
Candidates should hold MSc degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines with excellent academic credentials and a strong commitment to develop an academic career in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
Previous experience in numerical simulation by finite elements including computational fluid and solid mechanics and programming (Matlab, Python, etc.) will be valued.
Fluent English (oral and written) is required.
Full time contract including social security coverage.
