R&D Project Manager

The Project Management Office of IMDEA Materials Institute is looking for a R&D Project Manager who will be responsible for managing the DIMMAT project (S2013/MIT-2775) on the topic "Multiscale Design of Advanced Materials", funded by Madrid's regional government. He/she will be the link between the project, madri+d system and regional administration (DGUI).

His/her duties will include:

  • Give support to DIMMAT project coordinator (monitoring the project implementation, advise the project participants on financial and administrative rules/procedures and follow-up of all legal /contractual obligations)
  • Financial and administrative management
  • Reporting to regional administration (DGUI)
  • Management of scientific results (dissemination, exploitation, IPR, etc)
  • External communication: contributing to the project’s communication activities (website, press releases, newsletter) and to the organization of events
  • Support to DIMMAT Management Committee
  • Active search for funding. Assist with proposal writing for European Framework Programmes and National plans
  • Partners search to set up consortiums
    Commercial activities towards DIMMAT stakeholders
  • Link between the project, madri+d system and regional administration (DGUI)
  • Promote cooperation with other R&D Programmes


  • Degree in Science or Engineering
  • High level of English and Spanish (spoken and written) is essential
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent self-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • ICT literate: knowledge of MS Office Excel at advance level (desirable)
