The research group of Multiscale Materials Modeling at IMDEA Materials is seeking a Research Associate (PhD in Computational Mechanics, Computational Materials Science, Applied Mathematics or Physics) to work in IMDEA in a project funded by the Luxembourg Funding Agency about the multi-scale simulation of mechanical behavior of metals. The work will deal with the simulation of the deformation and fracture of metals as function of the microstructure using continuum approaches (Crystal Plasticity and Phase-field models using Finite Element and Fast Fourier transform based solvers). The work will be performed under the supervision of the Dr. Javier Segurado.


The optimum candidate should have a PhD at the present date.
Experience in finite elements methods and/or computational plasticity are requiered.
High level of English is mandatory.


Contract with full social security coverage. 

Salary depending on previous experience and credentials.
