DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an energetic and motivated technician that will assist researchers, postdocs and PhD students in the successful completion of their research projects. The technician will manage the following laboratories: metals´processing (atomization, casting, thermomechanical simulation, powder sieving, heat treatment, laser processing), characterization (metallographic preparation of samples for optical and electron microscopy, including cutting, mounting, mechanical polishing, etching, and electropolishing), and mechanical testing (hardness testing).

Additional tasks include management of users, equipment maintenance, and contact with suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS

-Preferably Técnico Superior en Análisis y Control

-Ideally with experience in the following areas:

    .Metallographic sample preparation.

    .Chemical etching and electropolishing.

    .Mechanical testing (macro and micro scales).

    .Hardness testing.

    .Sample preparation for electron microscopy.

    .Chemical analysis

    .Powder metallurgy techniques (sieving, atomization).

    .Thermomechanical treatments.

    .Casting.

    .Lab users´ management.

-English: at least intermediate level.

-Computer skills: MS Office, Windows, internet.

-Contributions to scientific publications will be highly valued.
