Laboratory Technician in protein production and biomechanical testing

IMDEA Materials seeks a full-time Technician with a priority to candidates with experience in

i) daily management of a laboratory focused on engineering, production, purification, and characterization of proteins and enzymes,

ii) mature knowledge about basic techniques for molecular cloning, quick-change, error-prone PCR, etc.   and

iii) knowledge about managing spectroscopic techniques. We are looking for an individual with initiative and motivation to further develop her/his career in a new and dynamic research group under the ERC Consolidator grant Advanced biohybrid lighting and photovoltaic devices InOutBioLight.


Interested candidates should submit their Curriculum Vitae and a one-page statement of their motivation.

Fluent oral and written English is not required. No knowledge of Spanish is totally fine (free lessons provided).

Candidates should hold education in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology (or related discipline) as well as proven experience working on laboratories focused on protein/enzyme production. The candidate could also pursue a Ph.D. if the educational requirements are fulfilled. Experience on the preparation and spectroscopic characterization of fluorescent proteins and/or handling of STEM cells will be positively judged.


Full-time contract including social security coverage.

Salary depending on previous experience and credentials.
