Former alumni have already obtained positions in top international research and academic institutions (Imperial College of London, Oxford University, EPFL, Max Plank Institute, Cambridge University, KU Leuven, University of Science and Technology of China, etc) or hold senior positions in industry (Airbus, Arcelor-Mittal, ITP aero, Acciona, Repsol, Hewlett-Packard, IDOM, Future Fibers, Martinrea Honsel, Safran, Siemens Wind Power, etc.). The institute complements scientific and technical training with language classes and transversal training courses to improve transferable skills and provide better career opportunities.

Work environment

The institute hosts researchers from 18 different countries and has a team of laboratory technicians, an international project office and administrative staff to support researchers and help them focus on their research activities and developing their careers. The working language is English.

The institute holds the European Commission’s ‘HR Excellence in research’ award since October 2015. This award acknowledges institutions that are committed to good HR practices and researchers development.

The Institute has a Gender Equality Plan and a Code of Ethics that reflect its commitment to equality and good working conditions for everyone.
