Description

The position aims to ensure that the institute complies with safety standards and to promote a healthy and safe workplace. The key functions and activities will be:

  • Ensure compliance with occupational risk prevention legislation and implement strategies to minimise risks.
  • Update the institute’s health & safety policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Oversee risk assessment evaluations by external providers, ensuring that all risks are properly identified and evaluated and that the occupational risk prevention system is duly implemented.
  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day health and safety activities (including coordination with companies and health monitoring).
  • Develop and deliver health & safety training to new staff.
  • Promote health & safety culture throughout the institute.
  • Provide support and advice to group leaders on safety issues.

Requirements
Education:

Bachelor's degree or vocational qualification in a relevant discipline.
Master in health and safety.
Fluent in English (oral and written).

Experience:
  • Minimum four years of similar experience in a multinational and multicultural setting.
    Previous experience overseeing and coordinating day-to-day health and safety activities (including coordination with companies and health monitoring) is essential.
    Previous experience developing and delivering health & safety training to new staff in Spanish and English.
    Previous experience in preparing and supervising specific risk assessments and equipment adequacy reports.
    Previous experience in certifying biohazardous facilities and notification of new biological agents to competent authorities.
Necessary competencies:
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Strong communication skills, proactivity and problem-solving skills
    Self-management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines
    Teamwork orientation.
    Initiative, flexibility and ability to solve everyday problems related to the position's duties.

Conditions

Contrato indefinido a tiempo parcial con cargo a la tasa de reposición específica autorizada por la Secretaría de Estado de Función Pública del Ministerio de Hacienda y Función Pública en fecha 30 de diciembre de 2022.

Part-time permanent contract under the specific replacement rate authorised by the Secretary of State for the Civil Service of the Ministry of Finance and the Civil Service on 30 December 2022.
