PhD candidate – Development of additive manufacturing of metamaterials using shape memory alloys and functional gradients
SHORT DESCRIPTION
The candidate will participate in a public funded research project (METALIA – “Enabling technologies for the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the value chain of the Additive Manufacturing of new metal alloys”) aiming at developing materials for various applications (space, biomedical, aeronautic, etc.) by additive manufacturing (AM). This PhD focuses on advancing the development of additive manufacturing of metamaterials using shape memory alloys and functional gradients. These innovative structures, based on generative designs, biomechanical properties, and metamorphic capabilities, will enable a new generation of intelligent and personalized implants.
The candidate is expected to have a solid background in material science and engineering or related field/discipline and a strong commitment to developing scientific activity in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
