Postdoc position in development of high-throughput method for materials libraries in bulk form

Description

The candidate will work on the development of the high-throughput method for materials libraries in bulk form for accelerated materials discovery.

More specifically, the candidate will contribute to the design and building of a setup for automatized powder distribution, high-throughput melting crucible, and testing and optimizing of both.


Requirements

Candidate should hold a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field/discipline with excellent academic credentials and a strong commitment to developing scientific activity in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Fluent English (written and oral) is needed.

Expertise in induction melting and casting, electron microscopy, and mechanics of materials is required. Demonstrated previous experience on the metallurgy of Al, Fe and Ni alloys, as well as on designing and building small devices, will be strongly valued. Some background on computational thermodynamics and numerical simulations is welcome.


Conditions

Full-time contract including social security coverage. Salary will depend on previous experience and credentials. The post-doctoral contract is for 24 months with possible extension.
