IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in 2007 by Madrid’s regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over the world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. The research activities have been focused on the areas of materials for transport, energy, and health care and the Institute has state-of-the-art facilities for processing, characterization and simulation of advanced materials.

The institute is looking for a computer technician with previous experience in providing help-desk services to support the scientific-technical management of the Integrated Computational Materials Engineering research program.


Vocational training in computer system administration or degree in computer science.

Previous experience in a similar position:

  • Troubleshooting in level 1, in level 2. Windows, linux, MacOS (required)
  • Experience with Windows DFS, DNS, DHCP and WDS (desirable)
  • Experience with Ubuntu 14 LTS and later (desirable)
  • Experience with Acronis True Image and Symantec Ghost Solution Suite (desirable)

B2 level of English.


Full-time contract to cover a paternity/maternity leave.
