SHORT DESCRIPTION

A Research Assistant position to work with the Multiscale Materials Modeling and the Physical Simulation Groups at IMDEA Materials Institute is seek. The researcher will work on developing constitutive models for the mechanical response of different steels fabricated by additive manufacturing.

Funding for this position will come from IRIDISCENTE, a competitive research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

The tasks to be developed will be mainly numerical, using state-of-the-art tools as crystal plasticity and homogenization based on Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) solvers or Finite Elements, but will require a good background in materials science, specifically on steels. The researcher will be enrolled in a PhD program and carry out his/her PhD dissertation while working at IMDEA.
