Description

IMDEA Materials is looking for a PhD candidate to work on the research project SM@RTM funded by CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology). Research activities will focus on developing new digital technologies enabling digital twins for resin transfer moulding processing of structural composites. The activities will include model development, virtual processing simulations, and validation against physical industrial demonstrators.


Requirements

Candidates should hold an MSc degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Industrial Math, or related disciplines with excellent academic credentials and a solid commitment to developing an academic career in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Demonstrated experience in Machine Learning/Data Analytics, and numerical simulation by finite elements, including computational fluid and solid mechanics and programming (Python, etc.) will be valued.

Fluent English (oral and written) is required.


Conditions

Starting date: Available immediately; open until filled. The vacancy will be closed as soon as we find the right candidate.

Full-time contract, including social security coverage.

Enrolment in an academic Ph.D. program.
