Research assistant (PhD student) – Mechanical simulation of Hybrid Structures for Solar-Powered Automotive Systems

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to establish the foundation for future technologies that will enable the integration of photovoltaic (PV) cells into metallic structures for automotive applications. A predoctoral researcher is searched for the mechanical analysis of the fabrication and mechanical performance of the structures. The study will be based on modeling and simulation of the materials and processes involved and the main tool to be used will be the finite element method for non-linear problems involving large strains, plasticity, fracture and decohesion.
