IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in 2007 by Madrid’s regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over the world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. IMDEA Materials has grown rapidly since its foundation and currently includes more than 120 researchers from 22 nationalities and has become one of the leading research centers in materials in Europe which has received the María de Maeztu seal of excellence from the Spanish government. The research activities have been focused on the areas of materials for transport, energy, and health care and the Institute has state-of-the-art facilities for processing, characterization and simulation of advanced materials.

The purpose of the position is to manage the general maintenance of the building, its facilities, infrastructure and laboratories, including maintenance, security and cleaning services. The Infrastructure Manager will support the principal investigators in designing new laboratories, adapting the facilities to new needs and providing support in the installation of scientific equipment. He/She will define the institute's energy efficiency and saving policy, implement the actions agreed therein, and coordinate and manage waste.

education

• Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar
  Training in Energy Efficiency (desired)
  Training in Renewable Energies (desired)
  Training in legionella prevention (desired)

experience

• Minimum 10 years of previous experience in a similar position
  Previous experience working with air conditioning and extraction equipment, mechanical, electric and photovoltaic installations.
  Experience with AutoCAD and Ms Office
• Previous experience working in a research centre with laboratories (desired)
  Experience with enterprise resource planning systems (ideally IDINET) (desired)
  Experience with CMMS (desired)
  Experience in architectural environments (desired)
