Project Manager - R&D Proposal Specialist


IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in 2007 by Madrid’s regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over the world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. Description

IMDEA Materials seeks a Project Manager - R&D Proposal Specialist to join its Projects and Technology Department. The position's main duties will be:

  • In close collaboration with the Principal Investigators (PIs) of the institute, design and write R&D grant proposals for funding schemes at both international and national levels (Horizon Europe, Spanish state research agency (AEI), Madrid regional government, etc.).
  • Internal promotion of calls, detection and analysis of funding opportunities, technology surveillance, and development of project ideas and consortia.
  • Engage in continuous collaboration with PIs to identify funding opportunities.
  • Networking and business development activities.
  • Create support content and material for proposal preparation (handbooks, internal notes, internal infodays, etc.)
  • Provide support to technology transfer activities.
  • Management and administrative reporting of ongoing grants in collaboration with the PI.

Requirements
  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar position within research organisations, universities, consultancies, etc.
  • Experience in proposal writing for EU framework programmes (Horizon Europe, H2020, etc.).
  • PhD in science or engineering (ideally in Materials Science and Engineering).
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • Training in grant writing and project management will be a plus.
  • Creative and highly motivated character.
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, and cooperative person with good communication skills.

Conditions
  • Full-time contract. Salary depending on experience and skills.
  • Flexible working schedule and excellent working environment. Possibility of partial telework.
  • Employment contract with full Social Security coverage.
