IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in 2007 by Madrid’s regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over the world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment. Coordinate the post-award activities at IMDEA Materials Institute, providing research support to Principal Investigators (PIs) and other researchers in post-award activities (project management and financial reporting) related to grants. This position also actively contributes to optimizing internal processes and to the project management of the Institute.
Main responsibilities:
- Plan, oversee and evaluate the operations and performance of the Post-Award Project Managers team. Liaison with other Departments (HHRR, Finance, Technology Transfer, etc.).
- Reports to the Projects and Technology Director, supporting strategizing and devising plans.
- Responsible for implementing internal process optimization and / or new needs in this respect. Creates associated instructions/procedures/policies.
- Cost monitoring, financial reporting of the allocated projects (grants, contracts, fellowships, etc.) and other day-to-day operations. Can act as the internal expert on specific funding programs' financial and administrative regulations.
- Participate in internal committees
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within research organisations or universities.
- Minimum 10 years of experience providing management and administrative support to grant reporting at National and international levels (in particular EU framework programmes).
- Experience monitoring costs and preparing cost claims to funding agencies and managing audits requirements.
- Master in science or engineering.
- Training in legal and financial aspects for EU framework programmes.
- Training and experience in regulatory compliance.
- Medium level of spoken and written English (B2 or higher). High level of Spanish.
- Experience working with ERP IDINET will be highly valued.
- Experience implementing anti-fraud measures plans will be highly valued.
- Full-time contract.
